More than seventy civil projects are planned to be carried out in the different ports of the Hormozgan Province.

Mr. Ali Akbar Safaei, the Ports and Maritime General Director of the above mentioned province announced this news and added that these projects had been defined and designed for the different areas in this province and a credit of more than 600 billion Rials has been dedicated to this section.

The Ports and Maritime General Director of Hormozgan Province went on to state some of the above mentioned projects and said that the construction of over 15 port complexes in the various parts of the province of Hormozgan were on the agenda in this regard, among which one could mention the ports of Shahid Haghani, Shahid Zakeri, Sirik, Bandar Lengeh, Tiab and Khamir.

He pointed to the project for the construction of the support berth of Hormoz in Bandar Abbas as one of the most important projects to be carried out and added that the required studies in regard with the above mentioned project were already completed and the tender for determining the contractors would be started in a short time. Mr. Safaei further stated that for the construction of this useful berth, a credit of more than 300 billion Rials had been dedicated and it was projected that the new berth would be able to eliminate a large number of problems that plague the island of Hormoz.

He then pointed to the 2400 hectares of lands located in the north of Shahid Rajaee Port Complex which were planned to adjoin to this port complex and stated that considering the expansion of this port and the role it played in the economy of the area, as well as the whole country, the adjoining of these lands to it seemed like a very obvious necessity
